Ginger Shots for the WIN

I recently discovered ginger shots! Have you ever heard of them? Tried one? Lot's of places that serve fresh juice offer them. They have a pretty strong ginger"y" flavor with a little kick.

There are so many ways to make them but this is how my bonus daughter showed me and I really like them, so I thought I would share.

But first, you need to know the amazing benefits!! Are you ready for this?

It boosts your immune system, fights infection, has BIG anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, helps with nausea and digestion, aids in weight loss, lowers blood sugar levels! That is just the GINGER!!

I add cayenne pepper to mine, which helps in detoxifying your body, boosting metabolism, fighting infection, and weight loss.

I like to add a sprinkle of turmeric, too. Turmeric is great to take for everyday pains or if you are dealing with the physical toll that comes from a good, hard work out. It can help as well if you are feeling run down or stressed.

Coconut water is SUPER hydrating.

Green Apples are high in fiber and great for healthy gut bacteria.

T H E R E C I P E:

1 green apple cut in to pieces (minus core)

4 pieces of fresh ginger, washed. (you can peel if you like)

2 lemons juiced

2 cups of coconut water

1 tbsp of cayenne pepper

1 tsp of turmeric

Blend it all in a blender. Once blended well, use a strainer to strain into a bowl, pressing with a spatula all the pulpy goodness so that you don't miss out on all the juice. You may want to strain again or leave it.

Let me know what you think if you decide to give it a try. You can store in a mason jar in the fridge.

Eat clean, Live well,

Bridget
